Freezing Cold Street Photography in Vienna

“Jonas Reindl”

I’m not a big fan of winter or cold temperatures.
But after missing photography for quite some time, I eventually forced myself to step outside and look for a few moments worth holding onto.

Every now and then, I got lucky and the sun briefly broke through. Most of the time, however, the light remained flat, grey, and rather uninspiring.
It quickly became clear that this would turn into a consistent black and white series.

Stripped of colour, the focus shifted naturally to shapes, gestures, and quiet interactions.
What started as a reluctant walk through the cold turned into a small reminder of why I keep returning to the streets with a camera, regardless of the season.
